For thirty years now, Check Into Cash has been a leading short-term lending provider of payday loans in the United States. From humble beginnings in 1993, the company has grown from a small storefront in Cleveland, Tennessee, to a nationwide network with hundreds of locations.

In the beginning, the company would hold a personal check in exchange for a bit of cash to hold the borrower over until their payday. Thus, the name was created: Check Into Cash. Allan Jones, the company’s founder, had identified a need in the market for short-term loans that traditional banks were unwilling or unable to provide. Finally, Check Into Cash could offer customers a way to access quick cash to cover expenses until their next paycheck.
30 Years with Check Into Cash
~ 1990s ~
June 21st, 1993
The first Check Into Cash location opens in Downtown Cleveland in an old ice cream shop.
1998
Check Into Cash expands to 250 stores located in several different states.
1998
Check Into Cash introduces company mascot Bob Cash by Sandra Rowland. This year our tagline of ‘Your One-Stop Money Shop’ was introduced by Keria.

2002
In under a decade of being Your One-Stop Money Shop, Check Into Cash opened its 700th location in even more states.
2003
Check Into Cash’s online entity Loan By Phone launches, offering customers the ability to apply for a payday loan from the comfort of their own home.
2006
Check Into Cash opened its 1,000th store, sending a 1000hp Viper build by John Hennessey to all locations in 30 states. Stores also began offering check cashing services.

2012
Check Into Cash adds new mascots — The Cashdales — traveling to all locations and showcasing in local parades.
2013
Dedicated to serving even more communities, Check Into Cash continues to grow with additional brands.
2014
The first Check Into Cash app is launched in app stores.
2015-2016
More offerings are available online as Loan by Phone offers Installment loans and lines of credit.
2018
Check Into Cash celebrates 25 years of excellence.

Check Into Cash merges with Community Choice Financial.
2023
Check Into Cash celebrates its 30th anniversary.
