Check Into Cash Cares About Our Customers & Employees [COVID-19]

As you’re probably well aware, the COVID-19 situation is causing quite a stir around the world. Still, stay calm; this too shall pass. Keep your distance. Eat lots of fruits and veggies and get plenty of rest. Try to stay healthy, friends.   In the meantime, Check Into Cash is taking extra safety and health precautions. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re prepared to serve our communities.

A Few Helpful Resources

CARES Act

On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law to aid individuals and businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This bill is the largest of its kind in U.S. history.

Direct Stimulus

Individuals will receive tax credits in the form of a check or direct deposit. No action is required to receive this benefit. This includes $1,200 per adult and $500 per child to individual filers earning less than $75,000 annually, along with other stipulations. Track your Stimulus Check here.

Unemployment Assistance

This CARES Act also includes expanded unemployment benefits. Requirements now include self-employed, independent contractors, gig economy workers, and more. To apply, contact your state unemployment office. Find their contact information on the U.S. Department of Labor website.

Mortgage Assistance

At this time, mortgage lenders and servicers can provide payment deferral of up to 180 days on federally backed loans. If needed, contact your mortgage provider to discuss deferring mortgage payments.

Rent Assistance

If you cannot pay rent, talk with your housing provider, as you may be protected under the CARES Act. Read more about COVID rent relief here.

Serving Communities Nationwide

We’re dedicated to providing essential services to our communities in need. We’re open so you can send funds to your families across the globe with Western Union® money transfer. We’ll cash your checks, help you pay bills, offer financial assistance, and much more.

We Promote Infection Control Practices

Check Into Cash mandates that every employee exercises infection control practices at all times. This includes wearing face masks, regular hand washing, coughing and sneezing etiquette, and tissue usage and proper disposal. For example, all employees will wear face masks in accordance with local guidelines and ordinances. Then, of course, we’ll clean our hands after coughing or sneezing with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Our Suggestion: Anyone can follow these practices to minimize the spread of germs. In the event you find yourself without a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve, not your hand. Then, make sure you’re washing those hands regularly, too.

How We Wash Our Hands

Did you know there’s a proper way to wash your hands? According to the CDC, you’ll want to wet your hands, then lather with soap. Remember to cover the backs of your hands, under your fingernails, and between your fingers, too. Scrub for 20 seconds. Then rinse clean and dry.

Songs to Sing While Washing Your Hands

You may have heard about singing the “Happy Birthday” tune twice while washing your hands. This adds up to roughly 20 seconds. But that gets a little boring. In case you want to switch it up, here are a few other tunes that’ll do the trick. Simply sing the chorus of these major hits while washing your hands. They’re all roughly 20 seconds long:
  • “Love on Top” by Beyoncé
  • “Jolene” by Dolly Parton
  • “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac
  • “Raspberry Beret” by Prince
  • “Africa” by Toto

No Hugs. No Handshakes. No Problems.

Like we mentioned earlier, Check Into Cash cares about its customers. We try our best to build relationships with everyone that walks in the door. We’re here to listen to your stories and help you through good times and bad. Sometimes, we’ve even been known to give out a hug or two to those we’ve helped along the way. However, in light of recent events, we will not readily accept hugs from our happy customers. We hope you understand. And we may even shy away from handshakes, too. But remember, it’s not personal. We’re just trying our best to avoid the spread of germs. However, we have a solution. If you feel the need to handshake or hug a Check Into Cash team member, just hold onto that feeling. Save it for a later date when this pandemic has passed. Then, in a month or two, come back and visit us with open arms. Yes, pun intended.

Employee Health Is Our Top Priority

The good health of our employees and customers remains paramount. In fact, we encourage our sick employees to stay at home. At the same time, we discourage team members from using other employees’ phones, desks, offices, or other work tools and equipment. We also work dutifully to keep work surfaces, telephones, computer equipment, and other frequently touched surfaces and office equipment clean. So, if you drop by one of our stores, you may find us busy disinfecting and cleaning away.

What if an Employee Falls Sick?

An employee who begins to show symptoms will be required to stay home to minimize the spread of the pandemic. In order to return to work, the team member must remain symptom-free for a specified time, without the use of medication, before returning to work.

What About Employees Who Travel?

For the health and well-being of our employees and customers, all employees traveling domestically and internationally must take a medical examination, test negative, and remain symptom-free of COVID-19 for a specified time, without the use of medications, before returning to work.

We Offer Online Loans

One way to minimize exposure to the COVID-19 is to stay home. But what if you need cash? No worries. In some states, Check Into Cash allows you to apply for loans completely online from the comfort of your home. Then, your money is deposited directly into your bank account the next business day. It’s that simple!

Watch Out for Scams

During times of crisis, fraudsters may try to take advantage of the situation. Stay vigilant. Be on the lookout for fraudulent activity. Visit our Security Center to learn more about identifying potential scams.
