Check Into Cash acquires United Kingdom-based Cash and Cheque Express

Check Into Cash, Inc., a national leader in specialty consumer financial services, has expanded its focus overseas. Steve Scoggins, Check Into Cash President, announced today that the company had acquired the United Kingdom-based Cash and Cheque Express.

The upscale U.K. chain of 16 stores offers a wide array of financial services and products, including new and secondhand inventory that includes televisions, computers and cellular phones.

“Cash and Cheque Express has a rock-solid reputation in the communities they serve,” said Scoggins. “Much like Check Into Cash, Cash and Cheque Express has great potential for continued growth. We are very excited about this expansion opportunity.”

Scoggins said Check Into Cash made the overseas acquisition in part due to uncertainty in America in the regulation of consumer finance, health care and likely changes in the tax code.

“Check Into Cash is one of America’s great success stories and our desire is to continue expanding stateside and providing more jobs for good Americans,” Scoggins said. “However, as we evaluated opportunities in the global market and the favorable regulatory environment and business climate in the U.K., coupled with a strong demand for our services, the most prudent investment was overseas. Unfortunately this means less jobs here and more jobs in the U.K.” Scoggins added that a best-case scenario is for Check Into Cash to continue expanding both in America and overseas.

“The global demand for our type of services continues to grow across many nations,” he said.

Founded by businessman Allan Jones in Cleveland, Tennessee in 1993, Check Into Cash operates more than 1,000 branch locations in 30 states. Check Into Cash is a founding member of the Community Financial Services Association of America (CFSA) trade organization and is a leader in industry best practices.

Check Into Cash offers a full suite of financial service products, which include installment loans, title secured loans, short-term micro-lending, Western Union money orders and wire transfers, check cashing and bill payment in select locations.

Check Into Cash Launches New Website

Check Into Cash announces the launch of its new website, which is designed to make it easier for customers from all over the United States to apply for cash advances and payday loans.

Check Into Cash is a leading supplier of short-term credit to American consumers. With its well-established reputation in the field of short term credit, Check Into Cash is a trusted source for payday loans, title loans, and title pawns. Other services offered by the company include check cashing, reloadable prepaid U.S. Money Cards, and walk-in bill payments.

Founded by Allan Jones in 1993, Check Into Cash prides itself on the transparency of its services. The company aims to be a beacon of honesty in what is seen by many as a shady industry. As a founding member of the Community Financial Services Association of America (CFSA), which regulates the payday loans industry, Check Into Cash aims to provide trustworthy service to all those in need of short-term cash advances.

The redesign of the website will make it easier than ever to understand and access affordable short-term credit options from Check Into Cash. “It is our goal that visitors fully understand their options, the cost of those options, and how to access the credit they need.” says Martin Pippin, Director of Online Marketing at Check Into Cash. One example of how this is accomplished is through geolocation. “Site visitors are identified by IP address and given information specific to their state. This removes multiple clicks and the opportunity for confusion as users search to find out about what services are available to them.”

Check Into Cash completes gift to Iowa wrestling hall of fame, museum

WATERLOO, IA — Check Into Cash this week gave its final pledge installment to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum, completing a $30,000 commitment to the Iowa-based center.

Check Into Cash Founder Allan Jones is well known for being a supporter of wrestling and athletics. Jones, who was a high school wrestler, has made numerous contributions to athletics including the Allan Jones Aquatic Center at the University of Tennessee and state-of-the-art wrestling centers at Cleveland and Bradley Central high schools in his hometown of Cleveland, Tenn. Those two high school wrestling programs have placed first and second in the state of Tennessee for three consecutive years.

“Wrestling and athletics teach leadership and strong character and Check Into Cash is pleased to support these worthwhile projects,” Jones said. “Iowa is the national epicenter for wrestling and Check Into Cash is proud to support the hall of fame and museum that bears the name of a national icon such as Dan Gable.”

In 1972 Dan Gable became the first American to win a World and Olympic title in consecutive years. After winning the World Championships in 1971, Gable won the gold medal at the Munich Olympics without surrendering a single point in his six matches. He also amassed numerous titles and records as a collegiate and high school wrestler in Iowa. Gable later coached Olympic and international teams, and led the University of Iowa to unparalleled success including a stint of nine consecutive NCAA titles and numerous other accolades.

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum provides free wrestling seminars with world class athletes throughout the year. The Gable Museum also recently partnered with the Boys & Girls Club and United Sport & Athlete for an ongoing wrestling club.

Kyle Klingman, director of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum, said the Check Into Cash gift will go far in preserving the history of the sport as well as developing the future of wrestling.

“This generous contribution to our organization allows us to continue important programming that involves youth,” Klingman said. “We are grateful to Allan Jones and Check Into Cash for believing in our efforts.”

Statement of Allan Jones

“I gave generously of my time to author Gary Rivlin to assist in his preparation for writing a book, purported to fairly represent the credit needs of the middle income working population and the markets that serve them. Unfortunately, Mr. Rivlin has chosen to rearrange some of my remarks to draw incorrect conclusions regarding my personal views and beliefs.

This in no way reflects the attitudes or the values of me or of our company. I take great pride in the service we provide, the contributions we make to local communities and the diversity of our workforce.

I deeply regret if any comments attributed to me have offended anyone.”
